The power of paint

Nothing can transform a space like paint.

It turns the dull to fabulous,

the gaudy to subdued,

the ugly to beautiful.

Over the weekend, given the nudge by the lovely

Keri of Sea Cottage, http://seacottage.blogspot.com/,

I decided to paint my old buffet.

Before, in a former living room.

This is a piece of Ethan Allen furniture I have had since 1989.

It is crafted of solid wood and has lovely lines.

The buffet goes anywhere and serves any function.

The only problem was the outdated fruitwood finish.

With a coat of 1-2-3 Bull's Eye primer

and 3 coats of Sherwin Williams Front Porch

in semi-gloss, my sideboard has a new lease on life.

The old mirror got a wash of gray as well.

The entire dining room feels like a different space.

Next up: the bookcase next to the buffet.

There's no stopping me now!

May your world be colored in shades of pale.

Until next time...

Anne
